As all members of AC UK were aware, the leadership were invited to a peace meeting last night, Thursday 17th May 2007 with the Director of Mobilisation Hon. Wale Oshun delegated from the ACO in Abuja. His mission also received the blessings of the National Secretary of the Party, Alhaji Dalhatu Bashir under whose authority all International Chapters are.

 

  1. The meeting was attended by nominated representatives from both the AC groups led by Dr. Ayo Owoade and Dr. Yakub Abdalla.

 

  1. After all issues were tabled and considered, Hon. Wale Oshun recommended the following action plan to harmonisation:
    1. He noted that both groups are keen to harmonise and become one AC UK
    2. He noted that the bone of contentions were around issues rather than persons.
    3. He recommended that:

                                                              i.      A two-man committee to be initially set up made up of Dr. Abdalla and Dr. Owoade, and can be expanded if necessary

                                                            ii.      All membership register should be harmonised in an official register provided by the National Secretariat

                                                          iii.      All membership cards issued should be re-numbered according to the register

                                                           iv.      A general meeting to be convened after these processes in order to brief the whole house.

                                                             v.      Positions should be negotiated and conceded where necessary.

    1. He does not have the authority to reverse the decision of the National Secretary as per letter of recognition issued to the UK Chapter
    2. He pleaded with the leadership of both groups to give their full support to the process.

The above observations and recommendations were acknowledged and agreed to.

 

  1. It was also agreed that all actions, emails and publications that are likely to be detrimental to this process must cease forthwith, and anyone who violets this will be acting on their own.

 

  1. That Hon. Wale will brief both the ACO and AC National Headquarters in Abuja of these decisions.
